Oh, I didn't realize you had dogs! Well, Satchel doesn't seem to mind them, I've walked her right past dogs a number of times.
[Satchel is, in fact, a very doglike little cat.
He blushes faintly at the offer of her arms, but doesn't hesitate to come and hug her.] Good. I'm glad you like them. And thank you for the peacock ore! It's a very unique mineral, just incredibly pretty in the raw, and it loses some of its luster when you polish or tumble it. It's interesting that way.
It's mostly copper, you know, so it's probably better for decoration than for eating. [Did you want a geology lecture? This is how you get a gnome to give you a geology lecture.]
I do! Well. One of them is my boyfriend's from the last world I was in, but I want to get him here in case Connor shows up. ( She sighed. She missed that boy — he'd definitely be putting rocks in his mouth to taste them without question and she loved him for that.
Night Sky smiled and kept her arms around him for as long as he would allow, and just... let him ramble. ) I thought they'd taste like blueberries, so that's disappointing.
[He goes on for another moment or two, something about oxidization of the copper creating the rainbow patina on the stones she's given him, but he relents before too long. Only when he winds down does he realize they're still hugging, and laughs at himself. He pets her hair once, gently, in an almost paternal gesture, then lets go in favor of sitting beside her.]
Well, they'd taste like copper, which tastes like blood. Someone might enjoy that flavor, but probably not either of us.
Wouldn't taste like my blood. ( which is a totally normal thing to say. ) Mine tastes like sap. It's also gold and a lot thicker than normal people's, but that comes with the territory of weird fey shit, I guess.
[He blinks at her, then smiles faintly. She's so odd, but in a charming way.] I've no desire to taste your blood, either, dear, but that's interesting to know. Deep gnomes tend to have darker blood than our surface cousins for whatever reason, but it's still, as far as I know, much the same flavor.
[Might have to ask Astarion for a confirmation of that. Which he is absolutely never going to do.]
