[Oh, the joys of having something go right are so intoxicating, and it's leaving him a bit lightheaded.... nope, that would be the work of going on day 2 without proper sleep.]
That's the sound of Diplomacy, my little friend! It's a gauntlet that I arrived with that's been busted. I finally got my hands on a gem that could hold electricity!
Oh, sweet lord, I thought that it would be useless for good.
Oh! You had told me about that before, ages ago! I'm so pleased for you that you've managed to repair it.
So it works again and you want to show it off, I take it? Shall I come to you? [Percy sounds a little bit giddy, it might be a good idea to look in on him and make sure he's not about to pass out, anyway.]
Oh, Percy. [There's an almost paternal concern in that little sigh, but it's not as if Barcus hasn't done the same thing a dozen times before. There's far less disapproval from him than there would be from someone who hasn't been there.]
Right, I'm on it. Be there in ten.
[And he is! Let it never be said Barcus Wroot doesn't help his friends. What he arrives with is, in fact, a bottle of non-alcoholic cider, a large sandwich, and a couple oranges, which he buys from a stand along the way, because if Percy has been absorbed in work that long there's a good chance the pickings in his kitchen are slim, too.
Barcus can't help but grin when he sees him, though. He gets it. There's nothing quite like the rush from completing a project.] Here. Sit, you need to relax while you eat or you'll get a stomach ache.
[If Percy sounded manic over the scroll work, that holds nothing over how much of a mess Percy looked in person.
Percy was a downright mess- his white locks in complete disarray from all the times he ran his hands through his hair, deep purplish rings underneath his eyes, and a stumble on his chin that would make any outlaw jealous. It is a drastic change from how Percy ordinarily holds himself, but it is understandable. Self-care will always take a second or last step when innovation is calling.
Luckily, within ten minutes of the call, Percy did some decent work, making his place more friendly for the gnome. There's a small chair beside his forge, tucked within her little bronze tea kettle; Sleeping Beauty slept.]
Ah! Thank you, Barcus! I honestly owe you one... If any other friends found out, I would be in for a lecture.
[Barcus isn't about to judge, although he might at some point suggest Percy tidy up and have one of his lovers brush out his hair. He's amused for the moment.] You know damn well you deserve a lecture.
[There's no reproach in his tone, though.] But I've been there before and will be again, so you won't hear it from me.
[The bottle and bag are placed before him pointedly, and then Barcus finds himself a place on the chair.] Eat and drink a little, then show me what you've gotten done, I know that's what you really want.

Date: 2025-02-04 03:00 pm (UTC)Pelor's Sweat... I think I finally got it working.
[There's the sound of what could only described as the sound of lightning going off.]
Barcus- if you have the time, I think I finally have some success with an invention of mine, and it may be helpful with your other pet project.

H-hello? Are you all right, Percy? What in the hells are you working on that sounds like that?
[I mean, yes, he's interested, obviously!]

If I may trouble you? Maybe grab something to eat from my kitchen? I can't recall the last time I ate.
